Last Thursday we tuned in to an informative and enjoyable Webinar entitled Succeeding with Search hosted by DeeDee Doke, Editor of Recruiter Magazine, who posed the question;
“If you asked every candidate how they found your job posting, why they clicked it, and what influenced their decision to apply – what would they tell you?
The answers reveal what attracts high quality candidates to your jobs and what separates average online recruiting results from great.”
The webinar reinforced several factors that we have long thought to be true and highlighted the growing movement of job hunting towards digital, rather than traditional print, means.
♦ 70% jobseekers use a job search engineer every month, (Indeed, JobRapido, etc.)
♦ 40% jobseekers utilise LinkedIn.
♦ 45% “ “ Twitter.
♦ 67% “ “ Facebook.
♦ 25% “ “ Pinterest.
In fact, more than 98% of the workforce use digital job hunting, with most of them doing so via a mobile, therefore, having a mobile-optimised website is becoming extremely important. Candidates are demanding that they be able to apply how they want when they want.
♦38% search for jobs on their daily commute.
♦18% in the bathroom.
Jobs with simple job titles receive 10x more
clicks that those with complex long titles. indeed allows you to check the most searched Job Titles in a specific industry plus key words.
46% of job seekers state that a company’s reputation has an impact on their decision to accept a job.
When beginning your search for a new employee we advise you to bear in mind the 3 things that you want to achieve with your advert:
1. To catch the eye of the right jobseekers (those with the skills and experience you are looking for).
2. That the right jobseekers click on your job.
3. The best jobseekers apply for your job.
